Fermented 14-21 days in stainless steel at 58 degrees

Partial French oak aging

Our Gravelly Ford Red blend features Petite Sirah, Ruby Cabernet and Syrah. This wine offers concentrated aromas of raspberry jam, black cherries and vanilla. The palate offers sweet red fruit and velvety tannins with a smooth finish.

Gravelly Ford wines originate from select vineyards in some of California’s most acclaimed winegrowing regions. These ideally situated, cool-climate vineyards foster slow, even ripening of the grapes, enabling us to produce outstanding premium wines with an ideal balance of rich, ripe fruit flavors and crisp acidity. Our current vineyard sites are located in several premier appellations, including:

MARK RASMUSSEN

With over 35 vintages under his belt, Mark is Senior Vice President of Winemaking and oversees all winemaking and cellar operations. He began his career in 1977 with Pacific Land and Viticulture and then went on to Sebastiani where he became the Director of Winemaking. Mark even started his own company in 1986, Global Vin and Beverage, where he was instrumental in the launch of the Vinterra and Viansa wine brands. He holds his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and a graduate degree in Food and Science/Enology from Fresno State University. He loves to travel and, when it comes to wine, he’s seen it all!

STEVEN DECOSTA

Steven Decosta leads a talented team of young winemakers who focus on creating wines with character that come from premier appellations and fruit. Working to ensure the highest level of winemaking standards are met, he also oversees research and development and introduces new technology that has been implemented throughout the winery. Steven uses his foundation of chemistry and microbiology to create wines with a varietal focus of aromatics and flavors that consumers will enjoy. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Enology from California State Fresno. When Steven is not in the vineyard or production facility, you can find him traveling, cooking or reading philosophy.
